Here at Arkansas Alpha, we are invested in helping our community and world succeed in life and literacy by serving children near and far. We love serving through organizations like Arkansas Children’s Hospital, local elementary schools and after school programs, and different libraries around town. We take part in a program called Champions Are Readers (C.A.R.) which allows members to pair up with and read with local elementary classes once a week. For an hour on these days, our Pi Phis bring a book along with a fun activity and are able to express the importance of reading. In addition to C.A.R., a couple of our favorite fundrasing events are Pi Phi Pizookie and the Pi Phi 5k, in which we raise funds for our national philanthropy, Read > Lead > Achieve.
